School conditions in the interior of French Guiana
Along the coast of French Guiana, the living conditions are close to what you can find in other industrialized countries. However, once you enter the interior of the territory, modern technology becomes scarce.
Here's a picture of a school in a Native American village up the Maroni River. There's no electricity or running water, no internet, no roads, no cars... Bravo to the teachers who work there and who have to find alternative methods to teach the French scholistic program. This is the reality of what it is to teach in most schools in French Guiana that are not located along the more densely inhabited coast.
